Skills Commentary

Music is correctly synced up during the appropriate parts in the film in which they fit. Primary audio source is correctly synced up with the video. Sound effects are also synced up for their approximate timings. The footage is all cropped at a reasonable time.

Unintentional uses for the music created actually ended up being used in other scenes as they seemed to fit the mood a bit more. Each scene the audio producer would create two tracks to choose from that can be used. The ones that weren’t used ended up being used for other scenes.

Ways of Working (Communication & Collaboration)

I collaborated with the cinematographer on what different effects should be added and what scenes are what for some of the camera angles. I collaborated with the screenwriter on what order and what takes should be used for each scene. I also made sure that the music was the way he would’ve intended it as he wrote the script. I collaborated with the audio producer by helping him come up with different sound effects for certain events. He also ensured that the songs would match up with certain scenes within our film.

Ways of Living in the World (Life & Career)

I learned about problem solving and time management. I learned about how we really need to use our time wisely and get everything done by a certain deadline. Organization is key, that’s another thing in which I learned.

Reactions to the Final Version

During the film, as it played people’s reactions were different than others. During certain parts of the film, people laughed and giggled more. For example, during the part where I stomp on Casey. One commented that the sound effect that played there had a very comedic effect and was unexpected. One said that a song was synced up perfectly during a section, which was unintentional.

Self-Evaluation of Final Version

I am happy with the final version of the film. I wish there were some extremely minor inconveniences with the edits. I had wanted to add a scene with a tombstone, but unfortunately we lost a days worth of production time and we didn’t have the time to add the scene. I thought the music and sound effects really made the film what it was. I thought it was brilliant.

What I Learned and Problems I Solved

I learned how to sync up some of the audio with the footage in a good manner, and how to properly analyze takes and use takes depending on how well the acting, and overall production job was on the take. Problems that I solved involved some of the takes being mislabeled, making it a little more difficult to find the correct audio recording for the take. Those issues were fixed by listening and comparing different audios.
